Tara Tan Jie Ming is a film and theatre actor based in New York who originates from Singapore. Tara was born in Bangkok and raised in Singapore by her Thai mother and Chinese-Singaporean father. She is trilingual and can speak English, Mandarin and Thai.
Tara is a proud graduate of School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA; concentrating in theatre), as well as New York University (NYU) Tisch School of the Arts, where she earned a BFA in Drama.
Tara is a resident actor (member of the BATS) at the obie award-winning Flea Theater. She is so grateful for the opportunity to work and perform alongside some of America's most daring and talented theatre artists. Tara is currently managed by Jago Ciro Entertainment as part of their Faces Division.
Outside of acting, Tara is active as an arts administrator, she conducts research and writes the weekly newsletters for the Lotus Lee Foundation (NYC office), a newly established Shanghai-based theatre organization that aims to foster a deeper cultural exchange between the USA and China through theater news and innovative theatre technology.
